Quivering Blade. While it may seem like a waste of an elite slot (most of the time it is), when I simply can't decide what elite to take into an area with my build I will throw it in. Its 5 Adrenaline and does as much damage as the 8 Adrenaline Galrath Slash/Silverwing Slash. Actually I used it a LOT more when it was 4 Adrenline and caused daze if it was blocked (i forget what it was actually) but since I was running I solid warrior build dazed didn't affect me (affects spells only)
Skull Crack is also a pretty good skill if you know what you're doing, you can be devastating to a caster.
I also never see anyone using Grenth's Balance...awesome skill. Period.
As well as all mesmer skills, lol :P

Problem with Glimmer of Light is that it doesn't really provide a benefit. I mean, if your idea of fun and skill is in fact "put on selfless and spam away" that's fine and dandy, but that doesn't make a skill good. It makes the user bad. ¾ sec activation is fast enough, the cast speed makes no difference in PvE unless you're redbarring. The recharge doesn't really matter either, WoH + Patient Spirit = always able to use one.
Grenths balance, problem is that you need to be at a low health to use it. Otherwise it's just a wasted slot. And if you spend a lot of time on low health, you're doing it wrong.

Life Sheath beats it downright at that task; 1/4 cast, 2s recharge, negation of damage to healing and removal of conditions.

I don't care if you are a smiter monk, this skill belongs on your bar. Any monk without PS needs to stop playing a monk.
|
I agree, even my RoJ N/Mo Smiter has a Prot Spirit. Don't laugh, it's my new account and RoJ is the easiest elite to capture in Factions.
My favorite underused skill is probably Battle Rage - I love spammable adrenaline skills and freaking out Mesmers and Necros with Purge Signet while stacked. Since I use only adrenaline skills/signets, I don't care if I lose 80 energy - I can pwn their faces before they regain their energy and recharge spells they stacked.

Actually, I love to use E-Smash on my ranger. It's not as energy intensive that way and a lot of fun to 1/4 knock with.

Actually I'll defend Glimmer here. Glimmer's main selling point is its 1/4 sec casting time. It's not the heal or the recharge, it's the casting time.
In a setting such as Random Arenas, where you cannot expect support from another Monk or coordination from team mates, Glimmer can be good to have in some situations. For example, when going up against a BHA Ranger, a good Magebane/interrupt Ranger, Frustration/Migraine/Conundrum Ranger or Mesmer, etc. In many matches against such opponents I was at some point forced to using only Patient Spirit as a heal, because exactly due to its 1/4 sec casting time, it was the only spell I could pull off without being interrupted. WoH would become unusable with its 3/4 casting time becoming 1 sec+ cast.
All that being said, I still usually just run WoH, because WoH is superior to Glimmer if such counters are not present.
Life Sheath is good on a 2 Monk backline (where the other does the heavy duty healing) but again in a 1 Monk setting, it doesn't pack enough healing. You'll die to degen pressure. In this case I'd feel safer just running Glimmer or WoH.

Most people I talk to say it sucks because it takes away your energy. I give my heroes Resurrect but I take Rebirth. It's great if you're in the mission and the last one alive and need to res without aggroing.

I'm definitely an "out of the box" build maker, so one of my favorite Warrior skills is Warrior's Endurance. That single skill opens up a ton of creative builds for my warrior...

Hell yes... I'll even put it on a hero (disabled) and macro it along with careful flagging to recover from a wipe.
Funny thing is, I actually did that once in Arborstone HM. Saved the entire party. We failed when someone killed the judge and Danika got creamed. After that, someone asked to see the build, saw Dunk's rebirth (the same one that had just saved his arse) and demanded I remove it. *facepalm* When I refused, he raged.
Love needling shot, love rebirth, love heroes.

Except it's a completely different skill under a completely different attribute that requires the person to be hit, hence it's udner PROTECTION. If it's recharge times you care about, glimmer has one second, but the main thing is as mentioned it's 1/4 cast time. Seeing as this is PvE throw in divine spirit and you can spam it for 1 energy every second.
I agree with quivering blade, I prefered it when it was 4a, which means I have to mention cleave. Unless I know there will be blocking in which case I'll take whirling axe, I always take it.

If you're monking and you can't get off WoH against a ranger, then you need to learn how to cancel-cast. If you are getting camped by mesmers, then you should know how to pre-veil and swap weapons. There are ways to counter everything. Most of the people who play well will use WoH. It's just a better heal for the energy.

Rotting Flesh? really??
can someone please explain to me why a spell that spreads disease to ONE person is 15e with a 3-second cast time??
i mean, i know the disease can spread, but still...in pve things die too quickly for it to matter, and in pvp there are just too many better options.
not to mention unless it's put on a fc mes it seems like interrupt material to me...

75% chance to cause Crying if ally is already suffering from the Pvxwiki condition. If Crying occurs you gain 10 satisfaction.
75% chance to cause RageQuit is ally is already suffering the Crying condition. If RageQuit occurs you gain 50 satisfaction.
While Glimmer of Light is on your skillbar, you are immune to the Ovis condition.
Amongst all the amazing reasons to bring this skill, not least the fascinating graphic that leaves people asking what that is, but the QQ from preprogrammed "can u bring woh?" and "bring hb?" nublets is worth it on it's own.
Absolutely comedy gold from the moment you say "If you can explain why WoH is better for the task we're about to undertake, then yes" to the moment you say "gg, thanks everybody, somebody PM that QQ ragequitter and tell him we made it without him and how quickly too!".
